If the springs break, the pedal may not return to idle once the driver lifts their foot off the pedal. This unintended acceleration increases the risk of a crash.

Technical Summary Gillig LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain models of accelerator pedals sold as aftermarket parts. These pedals are labeled with Gillig part number 51-19017-016 (Williams Controls part number 351298), Gillig part number 51-19017-019 (Williams Controls part number 351571) or Gillig part number 45-35027-000 (Williams Controls part number 351298). The mechanical springs used to return the accelerator pedal to idle after the driver lifts their foot off the pedal may break.
