If the double Cardan joint of the driveshaft seizes, the front driveshaft may separate and under certain conditions, potentially cause a front axle lockup, increasing the risk of a crash.

Technical Summary Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain model year 1999-2002 International 4800 4x4 trucks manufactured June 30, 1999, through May 28, 2002, and equipped with Fabco TC-200 transfer cases. The field remedy that these vehicles received as part of Navistar recall 05501 (NHTSA recall number 03V-415), a double Cardan front driveshaft, may seize under certain conditions.
