A passenger air bag that is incorrectly activated or deactivated in the event of a crash increases the risk of injury due to potential incorrect airbag deployment or non-deployment.

Technical Summary Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2017 AMG GT & AMG GT-C Roadster and 2018 AMG GT-S & GT Roadster vehicles equipped with AMG Performance Seats. The passenger occupant classification system (OCS) might not function properly, possibly causing the passenger frontal air bag to be incorrectly deactivated or incorrectly activated in the event of a crash.

The software design of the communication module may fail to communicate the correct vehicle location for the emergency call system (eCall) in the event of a crash.
